The brainchild of architect Michael Rotondi and its wife, April Greiman, this lovely retro-chic retreat sits atop Miracle Hill in the nearby town of Desert Hot Springs, where health-giving, naturally hot and cold mineral springs were discovered nearly 100 years ago.  THE JOSHUA TREE INN

The Inn, also known as the Rock’N Roll Hotel, is the site of the legendary Gram Parsons Room, where the beloved and respected musician and songwriter spent his last hours.  Room 8 still offers a quintessential “Cosmic American Experience” to fans of the father of Alt-country rock.

Conveniently located six miles from the grandeur of Joshua Tree National Park, the Inn is an Hacienda Style Inn with eleven ground level rooms facing a desert courtyard and large pool. Their decor is eccentrically eclectic, in full Rock’N’Roll spirit.

Rooms at the motel are available starting at $89 a night. Room eight, where Parsons died, is $109 a night.

Outside room eight, there’s a small memorial for Parsons, a guitar-shaped stone with offerings from admirers littered at its base.

As early as 1857, a settler recorded the discovery of our site at Two Bunch Palms as a place to rest and find water, marked by two palm groves. In 1909, the US Army Camel Corps of Engineers surveyed the area and identified the location as “two bunches of palms.”
Along with the main large mineral pool, guests will also find three large teak tubs where you can adjust the natural mineral water temperature, as well as three additional concrete mineral water soaking pools.
